I just want to say at the top that my email hasn't been working for the past 3 days for some reason, IT says they're on it...So if you've sent me something recently, I'm sorry, I will get to it as soon as I can. If it's urgent, please leave me a voice message or send a note on Monday.
I hope everyone had a wonderful week!
We started off Phys.Ed class, working on some team building and cooperative games. Ask your child about Chuck The Chicken and Relay Tic Tac Toe!
Our 5 au quotidien continues to go well, and I've now read with each of the reading groups once. Some groups are reading small chapter books and will be reading these for a while, while other groups may go through books a bit faster. Here are some students working on the Writing Centre (le centre d'écriture), Shared Reading (la lecture partagée), and Word Games (les jeux de mots).

We also had our dictée. Most students did very well, and if there were errors, it was a letter here or there or an accent. So that's great! They will receive those back Monday as well as our new words for the week.
In math we began long division. I showed the traditional way and steps, but if you or your child knows a different way, you are by all means encouraged to use it. It can be a bit tricky at first as there are lots of steps. Below are the steps to follow, and although they are in French, I tried to colour code the numbers to make it clear. Some students had already mastered long division last year, while others were brand new to it, so I will do my best to continue to accommodate for the different levels.

(I just realized, that on step 7, it should say "repeat steps 1 to 5")
Here are some links to practice long division, and a Youtube video to help explain again.

We finished up a bit of math after second Nutrition Break, and then moved on to Health to end the day. We came up with our own personal fitness goals, and how we were going to achieve them. We then looked at the Personal Safety and Injury Prevention aspect of Health. In order to stay safe and healthy, in our body and in our mind, we need to know who we can go to for help and what we can do right then in a situation. Students wrote down their ideas on chart paper in groups. Here's a look at the collaboration!

That's all for now! Have a wonderful weekend!
