Fabulous Friday

Students began the morning working on their autobiographies, writing our dictée, and then listening to the end of our French book! Phewf, that took a while to get through!

In math we continued with word problem bingo (we had some winners!) and also worked on a collaborative math task. Each group rotated through 4 different word problems, but only addressing 1 of the 4 word problem-solving steps (read it, think it, solve it, explain it) at each word problem. They had to check the other groups' work before them to ensure they did the appropriate steps before writing down their step of the question. It was interesting to see how important each step was on its own, and that what might be clear and obvious in your head might be confusing for others (so in turn, what a student might right down as an answer and think they've explained clearly might be confusing for me to follow and see their understanding).

In the afternoon, we worked on our French projects with our reading buddies and began our planning our election simulation! More on those next week. Have a super weekend!
