Canada 150 Art

This morning we hung out with our Reading Buddies, finishing up (for real!) our French festival projects that are being presented tomorrow. After some DPA outside, we worked some more on our autobiographies.

After first break, we got started on our art projects for Canada's 150th celebration. Using videos by the very talented and Canadian artist and author Barbara Reid, we implemented her techniques using plasticine. Each student chose a different Canadian scene and then built up their art piece in layers, trying out different techniques. You can see the spreading technique that worked very well in the northern lights-inspired piece, and also the balled-up-spread-bottom clouds on the second piece. Enjoy our whole class display if you keep scrolling!
