We're still working away on our stories here in Room 12. Only a few people need to finish their plans, most are working on their good copy, and some are almost finished their good copy! Students will need to be finished their plan and some of their rough copy for Monday.

We also voted to have our dictée on Monday instead of Thursday, as Friday is a PD Day. It was a close call ;)

For math, we finished up our group decimal multiplication and division. Students then worked independently on 4 word problems involving decimals. Unfinished work is to be completed at home. Below are the questions:

In Social Studies, we looked at how archeologists and historians have been looking at the 10 500 years of history surrounding the Indigenous peoples of Canada. We tried looking at different items for clues as to where they may have been from. We also looked at a map of North America according to where different language groups of First Nations were situated. We will be continuing our discussions next week!

In Physed. Ed, we played Loose Caboose (not Rooster Goose, as heard by a few students....) and Dead Ants, continuing our focus on teamwork games. Ask your child how to play!

You should have also received a note from me regarding our upcoming Explique ce que tu sais (Show What You Know). It will be next Tuesday, Oct 4th. On the back of the note are practice questions, which I highly suggest students use to study from. If they can answer those questions, they will be very successful on the Ecqts. Please don't hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns.
