A bit of catch up

Our morning continued as usual, with most students almost finished their good copies! I'm hoping they will be ready for you to see tomorrow! Some students were helping others revise their stories and add in some images today.

We continued with money in math, looking at different strategies for figuring out how much change we should get back after giving a certain bill. We had a teachable moment when someone mentioned how we no longer have the penny and need to round to the nearest tenth...We also touched on how this rounding could help us or hurt us when it comes to paying for items.

Moving onto social studies, we continued our reading about Canada's First Nations' groups pre-Europeans, and divided our information into a chart of similarities and differences amongst the different First Nations groups.

We snuck a bit of art in, for those needing to finish their oil pastel/watercolour cityscapes, and those who were finished had a bit of time to continue working on their science project from yesterday.

Finally, in Physical Education class, we played a game of asteroid tag to warm up. Then, students were put into groups to come up with their own cooperative game (we have played many so far this year!) I saw some interesting equipment being used...I can't wait to see what creative games/activities they've come up with next class!

Hope to see you all tomorrow at Meet the Teacher Night! 5:30pm-7:30pm
