We began the day with physical education class, finishing up the presentations of our last 2 groups' games. Next we will be moving onto net/wall games.
After first break, we continued our work on patterning. Students worked well individually or pairs on pages 386 et 387. Most finished in class, but otherwise it is for homework.
Health class ended our day, where students discussed different safety scenarios and what they would do in that situation (from a loose dog in the park to a stranger pulling up to you in their car and asking for directions). Students had many great ideas! I then read a scenario about a student in the class having an allergic reaction, and students came up with 3 ways they could respond. There were some very well thought out responses. Many students seemed very interested in the topic, and as there are a few students in the class with severe allergies, I think we will explore the topic further in another health class.
PS here's some student patterning creativity after having completed their work.
