We had another wonderful morning in the library today - everyone checked out books, got some French reading in, and played in the Makerspace.
We took math outside today, using sounds and movements to make patterns. Groups created answers to the questions (e.g., making a growing pattern using movements, make a pattern using sounds and movements) with their bodies and wrote down the patterns they came up with. Some were very creative! Here are some groups in action:

The last two periods of the day were for Social Studies. Now that we've learned so much about First Nations groups, we're putting our knowledge and research skills to use by doing a mini-research project. There are a variety of topics available to choose from, such as make a scrapbook of various aspects of daily life of a First Nations group, create and analyze a piece of First Nations' artwork, or research and explain a First Nations' game/activity. Students worked very hard individually or with their partner. They will have another 2 periods next week to finish their project (anything left over will be for homework). They will present their findings and ideas either next week or early the week after.
