First day of...winter?

Hope everyone is staying warm today!

After our regular 5 au quotidien this morning, we talked about how books are written from different points of view: first person, third person objective (one character) or third person omniscient (all the characters). Students were each given a funny picture and they chose characters in the photo to write about from each of the perspective. Off to a funny start!

During math we finished up our math assignments. We will be starting time next week.

In the afternoon, students worked on finishing their social studies research project. Most groups really concentrated and found a lot of great information! I'm excited to see the presentations next week! If the project was not finished in class, I asked that it be done over the weekend. I will allow students to come in one recess next week to glue or put together the last bit of their project if needed.

In physical education, we worked on bumping! I can see improvement in everyone's volleyball skills already! Here a few pics of our warmup - Mime freeze tag. Ask your child how to play and what your body position looks like when bumping a volleyball.

As much as I love seeing you all, please don't come to school tomorrow ;) Please read through the multiple letters sent home today and let me know if you have any questions. Have a wonderful long weekend, and see you for Halloween Monday!
