Happy Monday!

This morning we began work in groups where students are reading about how children's lives were in Canada during the Second World War. Each group has a different sub-topic (e.g., racism, culture and games, new responsibilities) and will be answering a few questions together. I'm hoping this way we can share what we've learned and gain a better understanding of life back then. This will in turn help us understand WWII a little bit better, even though this is a tricky subject.

In math we worked on two elapsed-time questions. We will be continuing the second one tomorrow, as it was quite tricky.

After second break, we enjoyed our first class of music! We touched on the beats different notes receive, and time signatures. Lots of work left to do for sure! We then explored rhythm through centres: we clapped out songs using sheet music, clapped out our own rhythms made by placing different notes on the board, and used Chrome Music Lab (just the rhythm monkey for today) to explore different rhythms. Here's the link to Chrome Music Lab and some pictures from today!
