Sorry I was away yesterday - with the cold weather comes the colds right? Unfortunately, the classroom was left in quite a state...We had a chat about how it's OUR classroom, that it's not our janitor's responsibility to clean up after us, and that it wastes time when things aren't quickly cleaned up at the end of the day. Things looked much better this afternoon :)
We began the morning with math for a change - we were investigating temperature by using thermometers and doing various experiments around the school. We compared the classroom temperature to outside, the hallway, and outside, we rubbed our hands together quickly to see if this made them warmer, and put the thermometer in ice water. Some of the students' temperature predictions were right on!

We then had our dictée and a few minutes of 5 au quotidien before snack and recess.
Our remembrance day assembly was right after recess, and a few classes had performances to share. It was a nice ceremony.
We then watched a small section of Canada: A People's History Ep2 while answering questions along the way about Samuel de Champlain, his trading business, and his alliance with the Hurons. For students who missed some of it in class, or are interested in watching more, here is the link: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x16axu1_canada-a-people-s-history-episode-2-adventurers-and-mystics-1_shortfilms 26:08 - 39:08
At the end of the day, we began our Territory/Invasion games unit in Physical Education class. We worked on some throwing and catching skills, and then played Catch 5.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Please remember to sign up for a Parent/Guardian - Teacher interview if you haven't already!
