Snow Sculptures

We used up a bulk of our morning figuring out the next week and a half - there were a lot of decisions to make! Students received a newsletter containing info about our math test next Monday, our class Secret Santa, and Spirit Day events. We then decided on our door for Door Decorating Day, also next Monday. This was followed by 5 au quotidien, some sculpture snow making outside for APQ (ask your child which was their favourite challenge, I quite enjoyed the crocodiles they made!) and I read a bit more of our new French book.

In math, we looked at using a checklist to help us make sure we aren't missing any key information when creating a graph. Students completed a few problems by analysing pre-made graphs and figuring out how they should be improved. All students should be studying for our Explique ce que tu sais next Monday.

In the afternoon, we were treated to a Fire Presentation, where a fire firefighter came to talk to us about fire safety in our homes. I learned some new things too! Your child received a safety plan that you could do together at home.

After the presentation, we had a bit of time left to work on our original music using drums. One group was ready to present at the end of class, and boy was it great! Think of a peppy version of "I wanna hippopotamus for Christmas" with a drum solo in the middle and some rhythm layering! We will be finishing these tomorrow and working on our concert songs - we only have a week left!
