Too Cold to Handle

Man what a chilly day! We actually had to stay inside second nutrition break because of the temperature and wind chill! If there is school tomorrow, make sure to bundle up! You can check for bus cancellations by going to the Something Extra tab, I have a link there.

This morning students did a great job concentrating on 5 au quotidien, before spending 10min running around outside. We then worked on decorating our door, but to make sure we were being inclusive, we had a look at some other festivities celebrated during the month of December. A few of them I'd never heard of, such as Omisoka in Japan, and St. Lucia's Day in Sweden. Students got right to work, the door sure is coming along!

For math, we took up our in-class work/homework from yesterday and worked on a few study questions. Students will have another opportunity for studying, asking me questions, and catching up on work on Friday during math. I've also encouraged students to bring home a math textbook as doing some problems from pages 84-89 would be helpful for the Ecqts on Monday.

In the afternoon we spent time in the Library working on My Blueprint - an online personal portfolio that will follow students through the rest of their years in this board. They are welcome to continue work on it at home, and can be accessed through going to UGCloud, clicking the MyBlueprint button, and logging in.

Finally, we had some wonderful drum presentations, as groups showed us their hard work of the rhythms they've been creating and practicing. I wish we had more time, they were all so great! We also practiced our concert songs (which are only a week away!). Not perfect yet, but definitely coming along, I'm so proud of their efforts. A reminder that the concert is at 8:55am on Wed. Dec 21st - hope to see everyone there!
