Predator+Prey

This morning we enjoyed some winter and Christmas songs, and watched the original Grinch. It was a bit of a squeeze with everyone in the gym, but a lot of fun!

In the afternoon, we went outside to play predator and prey (goes by other names as well). During recess I had hidden 4 water "stations" and 5 food "stations" around the playground, and each student was assigned to the role of carnivore, omnivore, or herbivore. Each role had different survival necessities, and students ran around finding the stations and "eating," or trying not to be eaten, by classmates! It was a lot of fun.

Last period we discussed influences that factor in to whether people choose to drink alcohol or not. There were many interesting ideas, stories, and discussions. We will continue this briefly in the new year.

Tomorrow we will be having a normal morning, students will be attending the Winter Dance in the middle block, and then the end of the day students will be watching Elf, enjoying some pizza and other treats, and handing out our Secret Santa presents! Hope everyone can make it! :)
