We had a great end to our 3-day week!
We began with our Library period and got some new French books! Then we came back to class for some science. We're still working on our structures and mechanisms unit, and today we experimented with pulleys and ramps. We used spring scales to measure how much force we needed to pull a book up a ramp and to pull a cup of marbles through the pulley. This will be continued next week.
In math, students used geometric properties that we learned yesterday to come up with a sorting rule for the letters of the alphabet. I love that every group decided on something different, from straight lines to symmetrical to horizontal lines. Ask your child what their group decided to do and why. Here are some pics:

Our last 2 periods we worked with our Reading Buddies on the RESPECT Assembly - this month is Service, and we're in charge! Students split off into groups depending on what they'd like to do for the assembly. It was a very loud but productive afternoon! More details to come!
Have a wonderful weekend everyone :)
