Students visited the library this morning to exchange books or find one for their book report. We then continued work on our book report or did 5 au quotidien. After first break, we continued briefly with our art on one point perspective, as we are moving on tomorrow to another project. Students should be finishing the drawing part at home and then will have 15min tomorrow to paint.
Here are few finished ones to see how they're coming along!

Our special guest returned today to talk to us more about Number Talks. We talked about how with adding we can use groups of 10 to make it easier and more efficient to add up quickly (e.g., 9+1+6+7+3) or doubling numbers because those are using easily managed as well. We will be trying a few more of these in class!

In the afternoon, we took up our government research page, figuring out which level of government takes care of which servies. Next time, students will do an online scavenger hunt of important buildings in Ottawa! Then we headed to the gymnasium and worked on our target skills with pirate game. Four students tried to protect treasure (bean bags) on their pirate ship (4 mats put together) while in teams, students tried to steal the treasure without being tagged! If successful, they threw it to their teammate at the far end of the gym, who needed to catch it or else it didn't count. It was great to see everyone focusing on their throwing and aiming, as well as having just a little bit of fun ;)
Stay dry and warm tonight folks!
