Blustery Day

What a windy day today! It was so windy that it was an indoor recess second break, but we managed to get some time outside in the sun at the end of the day. Firstly, I'd like to share our beautiful artworks (all but 4 are up!). Why yes, I do have an artistic and creative bunch of students!

In the morning, we worked on French verbs *this is where everyone collectively groans* However, I invented a game that I think was more fun than worksheets ;) One student read out a verb, two members of opposite teams wrote down the verb correctly, and if they did, they scored a point. They then got to try to sink the ball in the bucket for 1 point, or further back for 3 points. It was a pretty close game from all teams!

In math, we've started probability. This transitions well from our fractions unit, and we will be continuing to practice using fractions throughout our exploration of probability. Today we mostly got acquainted with the terms "impossible, improbable, chance egale, probable, et certain."

In the afternoon, we explored Ottawa! No, we didn't take a surprise field trip...but Google Maps was a good substitute. Students needed to located several buildings and add them onto their incomplete map. They got to know several important areas, buildings, and monuments around Canada's capital.

We ended the day playing capture the flag outside. A bit windy, but still lots of fun!
