Today was a little strange as we had a few away and then 7 students went to help with the school waste audit until second break...That left us with about 15 kids! Nonetheless, we embarked on a virtual scavenger hunt of the Senate Chambers in the Parliament Building! The cool stuff you can do in 2017...have your child show you around! http://tour-ext.sencanada.ca/tour/index.html
We worked on our math games in the afternoon, played outside in the short-lived sunny weather, and did a quick rotation of 5 au quotidien.
We've also begun our unit on poetry. Yes, there was much sighing and eye-rolling, but I will do my best to keep it "uncheesy." Poetry can be powerful stuff once you have the tools. We listened to a famous modern French poet as well as a slam poet in English. Here are students doing snowball poetry, where they read the poem on the page, then crumble it up, throw it into the middle, and retrieve a new one to read.

At the end of the day, we finished up in the gym playing our last few target games. Students really enjoyed several of them and we will play them some more for warmups in the future!
Bring rubber boots and patience for tomorrow, looks like another indoor recess rainy day...
